Baby Skin care - MUSTELA

Baby skin care - It's another thing we stress over.

Is it natural?
Is it safe?
Will it work?

Baby skin care is such an important part of the first few years. We experience everything from nappy rash, eczema, dry skin, cradle cap just to name a few.

Knowing exactly what products you need to have on hand can be difficult but Mustela have such a wide range of products that have such amazing, natural ingredients, there is something for everyone!

Mustela cater for a number of different skin types with ranges for expectant mothers, normal baby skin, dry baby skin, eczema prone baby skin and a specific care range which quickly soothe and help recover your baby’s skin irritations: Insect bites, traces of chickenpox, scrapes, minor cuts etc. Skin blemishes fade away; restoring comfort, balance, and softness.

Mustela have an online skin analysis for your baby which you can do here. This will help you determine what skin type your baby has and what products will be suited to them.

"Mustela has always chosen ingredients of natural origin, sourcing most of the key active ingredients from plants."

"Mustela knows that nothing is more precious than your baby, and so safety and efficiency have been absolute priorities from the beginning."

"Since the beginning, Mustela has offered safe and effective skincare for babies and mothers with increasingly natural formulas."

Achilles has normal - dry skin (dry from Winter) so we chose products from the dry range to help put some moisture back in to his skin. Here is what we have in our stash that have covered everything we've ever need to fix, skin care wise for Achilles.

Hydra-Stick with Cold cream

I love using this one on his little face. It's so tiny and great for the cheeks, nose and lips! This one can be used from the day your baby is born and will help with the common new born rash that most babies (including Achilles) get when they come in to the world. I love the practicality of this product! It's so small and handy to carry around in the nappy bag or even my hand bag!

Nourishing Lotion

Yes, I taught my son how to moisturise himself! haha. He also knows how to wash himself in the shower too. Skin care is very important and it's never too early to learn all about it. This cream is incredibly moisturising whilst light weight and absorbent and has really helped keeping Achilles' legs hydrated. Thanks to the thanks to Avocado Perseose® in the products, they preserve the skin’s cellular resources which is so important for baby skin.

Nourishing Face Cream

Because Achilles spends so much time outside, he does get quite a dry face in the Winter. Whilst I use the Hydra Stick during the day for top ups, I use this one on him at night time for a really good drink for his skin! It penetrates the skin really quickly and instantly, the cheeks are soft and nourished again! The Face Cream also claims to restore the skins barrier and protect the skin from the external aggressions.

Nourishing Cleansing Gel

Our new favourite shower gel. I even use this one because its really hydrating and gentle on the skin.
It's quite a thick and creamy consistency gel and it's not super foaming which is because of its natural ingredients. it rinses well and has a really natural clean scent. It also is a tear free formula so I also use it as a shampoo for Achilles and the pump bottle really makes it simple to use in the shower or bath!
