Life in... February

I feel like nothing even happened in February it went so fast!

I have been so incredibly busy with work, Achilles, organising our new house and TRYING to keep up with this blogging thing.

I say TRYING because I feel like I am failing. I rarely post on instagram because I have no time to coordinate a decent photo for my feed.  I've been scrolling through both of my feeds and I feel uninspired by my own content. I think I'm going to take a break and re-evaluate what I want out of each page and what I can do to make my content better so it means more to my followers. At the moment I feel like I am just posting for the sake of posting, there is no content in my content... if that makes sense. Once I have the time to focus on what I want to do, you will see what I mean. Let me know if there is anything in particular you want to be seeing from each page whether its health, fitness, beauty, mum or otherwise related. You want it, I'll give it.

Now on to life in Feb. It was SUCH A BUSY MONTH! Ben didn't have transport for three weeks of the month... so... that meant I was dropping Achilles to day care then dropping Ben at work then driving to work, then working, then driving home to pick up Achilles from daycare, getting half an hour at home to have a little play and feed him dinner, then get back in the car to pick Ben up from work, then drop him at the gym and then some nights he didn't walk home, I would go pick him up after. Needless to say I am a little over driving now. Ben has now got his new bike and I am so over driving, I am now catching the train to and from work to have a break. It is so nice to just sit down and have someone else do the driving for me!

February is the month of love with Valentines Day falling right in the middle. Whilst we didn't celebrate (poor and no baby sitter for a date), we got the best present anyone could ever ask for in the world. Our 10 month old son took his first steps. Seeing your own child walk for the first time is one of the most amazing things you will ever see. The joy I felt in my heart was just indescribable. Even now, watching him walk every day fills me with happiness. He is growing so fast and getting such a cheeky little personality I just love every single day we are blessed with our perfect little human. Achilles took to walking so quickly. After taking his first steps on the 14th, by the 16th, he was a pro walker like he had been doing it his whole life. I am so proud of him.

Sundays were quite relaxing for us this month and we took a few little day trips to Samford (which is amazingly beautiful by the way and I highly recommend you visit). We played in the park and watched birds and drove up mountains. Just enjoying each others company.

For the first three weeks of day care, every time we would drop Achilles off, he would cry and just want to be held by me or Ben and wouldn't want us to leave and when I would pick him up in the afternoon, he would cry of joy like he hadn't seen me in months and immediately cling to me.

NOW... I drop him off in the morning and the second I put him down, off he goes to play with his friends and the toys. And when I arrive in the afternoon, I call out to him while he's walking around the playground like he owns the place and I don't know if he ignores me or he's just having so much fun he can't hear me haha. Eventually he looks up and gives me the biggest grin but there is no urgency in coming to me and once I come pick him up and collect his things and we head out, he always pushes himself out of my arms so he can have one last play in the big kid play ground before we leave. I actually LOVE this. I LOVE that he is having the best time playing and making friends and learning that he wants to stay. I know he loves his home time too but I am so glad when we are at work trying to earn money so we can provide the best for him, that he is in such good hands and we could not be more thankful for the people who look after him every day.

Some of you would know from my two previous posts (If you missed them read this one and then this one), that I am currently in week 3 of an 8 week challenge I am running with my team at work. I initiated the challenge so I can have some practice for when I am a PT and I also need to compete in a challenge to get my butt in to gear! I'm going really well and feeling really good with a bit more energy! Trying to make it to the gym 3-4 times a week as of this week after just concentrating on my nutrition for the first two weeks.
Achilles and I also attended the Bloggers United Australia 2nd Birthday event hosted by LUSH Cosmetics. Ben was supposed to look after Achilles but got held up at work so I had to take him along but I am so glad I did because he had a lot of fun and was very popular with the LUSH ladies who even remembered him from last year! It was so nice catching up with my beauty besties and also meeting some new ones!

March is shaping up to be a little less stressful but no less busy. This is the first time I have wanted there to be extra hours in the day! I am not looking forward to the sun going down earlier, I love that it stays around until around 7 ish.. that's one thing I will miss about Summer!

Until next time!

Keep smiling!

  1. I feel like I am falling behind with my Instagram too, I blame that on travel and me being lazy haha. March is always around the time I seem to lose my grip on goals D:

Was so good seeing you at LUSH! I need to be more proactive in organising catch ups with everyone!

  2. What an awesome update! Sounds like February was a little crazy for you to say the least. So much driving!!! I love catching the train as well because there is no traffic to worry about and you can just lean back and chill on your phone. I am also so glad that Achilles has taken to Daycare ... I knew he would!!! He is such a social baby. So glad you don't have to worry about him hating it now. You are also smashing out your challenge!!! SO proud of you! I am trying to focus on nutrition this month. It was all getting a little too much for me and I can't realistically try to do it all. I am sure you are the same. Also couldn't agree with you more regarding don't post for posting sakes. I feel this way about my blog so even if I have to reduce my posts, I am still trying to make sure they are good quality!
