Life in: August

Welcome to my first ever "Life In:". I feel like I don't get to share as much with you all as I would like and I LOVE reading other blogger's monthly catch ups (especially Sarah from Bows & Pleats) so I thought I would do my own!

So if you're interested in hearing a little more about what goes on in my personal life, keep on reading!

I'm going to be an Aunty!! Although I found this news out back in April, this month, my brother and his partner had a reveal party (that we couldn't attend as it was in Sydney) and they're having a GIRL! I'm so excited for Achilles to have a cousin! I was the only girl amoungst my brothers and male cousins and got along with them all so well so I can't wait for them to grow up together!

Ben's family all live in Townsville and they have a lot (at the moment TEN) foster children so it makes it hard for his parents and siblings to visit all at once so this month, we got visits from two of Ben's brothers and one of their fiances, one if his sisters and in a separate visit, Ben's Dad finally got to meet Achilles!

I wish they could visit more or we all lived in the same city but it was so nice to have them all come down even for a short while and spend time with Achilles. I know how hard it is for Ben to be away from his family so it made me happy that they were able to visit!

Achilles has teeth! Two teeth! I expected this a little sooner as he has been teething since two months but they're finally coming through! He is actually being a little trooper as they don't seem to be bothering him as much as I thought they would. He has had two or three restless nights but other than that, he is still sleeping through and being his happy little self!

He has also started to explore the whole crawling thing. I wouldn't call it crawling so much as wriggling like a worm but this can only mean crawling is just around the corner!

Achilles was also reposted by the Huggies Australia Facebook page this month and it has almost 4K likes! He is such a cutie!

I won a hair cut! Ben ever so sweetly entered me in a competition on Instagram to win a hair cut and treatment at Hopscotch Hair and I WON! I was so excited as I hadn't been to the salon in over two years! My hair was screaming for a cut. The best thing about Hopscotch Hair in Brisbane is that they have an onsite creche with the most beautiful Nanny and the salon owner's baby daughter. Achilles got to play whilst I got pampered. Any Mum's - or really just anyone who wants an amazing hair cut/ colour in Brisbane, I could not recommend Jess and her salon enough!

HOW ADORABLE ARE THEY?!

I went back to work. The worst day of my life. Leaving Achilles for the longest I ever have, knowing he still isn't taking the bottle and I'm too far away to go home every few hours. So far, still no luck however luckily my Mum has kindly offered to take care of him until he is a bit older so she is able to give him 100% attention and has had to syringe feed him just so he gets something in his belly!

Work isn't so bad and the extra money will be amazing for our family but I just wish I didn't have to stress about Achilles all day!

Ben and I celebrated (well we didn't actually celebrate because we are trying to save money BUT Ben did buy us donuts to mark the occasion) our two year anniversary on August 29. We were a long distance relationship for the first year but Ben moved to Brisbane last August after being medically discharged from the Army. Although I hate that he is injured, I must admit I LOVE having him here. Long distance is super hard but it does make me appreciate every day I have with him now. It just gets better and better every day!

From our first date as an official couple

So that is it for August.  It has been pretty intense for me, returning to work but I got through it much better than I thought I would! No crying! haha

How was your August? Did you do anything special?

If you want to see more behind the scenes, add me on snapchat at: tahanalee .

Until next month, keep smiling!
