Co-hosting your own baby shower is extremely stressful and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My advice is - have nothing to do with the preparation whatsoever and leave it up to others.
It was hard for me given we had to plan in such a short amount of time so I definitely did need to step in and help plan and prepare but if you can avoid it, AVOID IT! By 9am of the morning of my shower, Ben had sent me to bed because I was so drained from worrying about everything getting done in time not to mention I was emotional from getting last minute texts from guests saying they couldn't make it. Side note: don't text a pregnant woman on the day of her shower telling her you're not coming... she will cry lol. Either text the host number on the invitation or text the day after apologising for not making it.
Stressing aside.. once I had rested and Mum and Ben took over and everyone started arriving, I had the most amazing day and I could not have asked for a better shower. It was fun, the food was amazing (thanks to my Chef man Ben and my Mum), the cake was INCREDIBLE (made by my best friend of over 20 years Jess and her mum Sue) and everything was perfect!
Honestly, how amazing is this cake! You should see some of the others she has made. I keep telling her to go pro but she's also an engineer so she is sticking with that for a while haha.
I chose all of the games to play after lots of research and decided on the below games which were all super fun and everyone seemed to enjoy!
Guess the size of Tahana's waist
Guess baby A's name (one person actually did guess!!!)
Guess baby A's Birthday
Baby animal names
How handsome (guess which traits Mum wants baby to have from either Mum or Dad)
Guess how many lollies in the jar?
here, I made the Guess Baby A's name cards myself using Microsoft word and bought some wool and a cute little basket for the waist guessing game (we already had the chalk board).
I (with the help of my dad) also made a mini photo-booth (I printed the props myself and stuck them to wooden squewers!) outside for photos and had a drink station set up on arrival with Fairy Floss flavoured drink (which we bought because it was blue).

Made by my Aunty and cousin <3
My Dad made this for baby A.. how amazing is it?!
Baby A is one lucky little man to have so many people who love him already!
Yes, I have talented parents, my gorgeous mum made this out of nappies and baby goodies! It's a PRAM!
As thank you gifts to guests, I found these cute measuring spoons which I put together with a blue love heart chocolate in a brown paper bag with a cutomised sticker from VistaPrint. <3
here... although it's not maternity, it's super stretchy so can fit a nice big belly in there!
